JustJoes Goes Bowling

2025 Bowl For Kids Sake

On March 1, 2025, the JustJoes team enthusiastically participated in the annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake event, held at The Alley at Murphy’s Community Centre in Charlottetown. This year’s event was particularly special, marking the 50th anniversary of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince Edward Island (BBBS PEI), a milestone celebrating five decades of mentorship and positive impact on the Island’s youth.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is BBBS’s premier fundraising event, bringing together community members to support mentorship programs. Participants form teams, raise pledges, and enjoy a fun-filled day of bowling, all in the spirit of supporting local youth.

This year’s theme was a celebration of the golden anniversary, encouraging participants to dress in their favorite team’s colors, flashy attire, or add a touch of sparkle to honor the occasion. The JustJoes team embraced this theme wholeheartedly, donning vibrant outfits that added to the festive atmosphere of the event.

The event featured exciting raffle prizes, including an Elite 12-foot Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board, tickets to the Sommo Festival 2025, and a Top Notch Lobster Cruise for two. Additionally, participants who excelled in fundraising had the chance to win prizes such as a one-night stay at the Delta by Marriott Prince Edward with a $50 Budley’s Gift Card, a Pizza Oven, Bluetooth Speaker, and a Keurig Coffee Maker, all sponsored by Desjardins Financial.

The funds raised from Bowl for Kids’ Sake are instrumental in supporting BBBS PEI’s mentoring programs, which have been making a life-changing impact on children and youth across the Island. It costs approximately $1,500 annually to support a community-based match, and events like these ensure that more children can benefit from these invaluable services.

Participating in Bowl for Kids’ Sake was a rewarding experience for the JustJoes team, offering an opportunity to have fun while contributing to a cause that enriches the lives of young people in the community. The team looks forward to continuing their support for BBBS PEI and encourages others to get involved in future events to help make a difference in the lives of Island youth.
